Design project of a private house in Osokorky

At the entrance, we had a 130m2 house to be arranged to suit the needs of a family with two children. The interior design of the house focuses on using modern design with light colours, cool lighting and functional furniture. Interesting accessories were also added to the interior without overloading the space.

General concept of the interior

The created interior design in Kyiv involves the decoration of a study for the owner, a kitchen-studio, two children’s rooms, a master bedroom and two bathrooms. This requires a great deal of skill, and despite the uniqueness of each room, a common design line must be followed in terms of functionality.

The following design features can be distinguished:

  • dominance of cream, brownish-beige and grey colours;
  • adding abstract modern elements in the form of hanging lamps, paintings, etc;
  • use of spotlights;
  • the prevalence of natural materials with the rejection of non-ecological plastic.

A harmonious combination of colours and textures creates a coherent interior. Each element has a specific purpose, so that the square metres of space are used with maximum efficiency.

Design of a studio kitchen

The central task is to design a studio kitchen, as the large room combines areas for cooking, eating and relaxing. The area for creating culinary masterpieces includes the following components:

  • Grey upper kitchen unit with closed drawers and a transparent compartment for placing dishes;
  • cream matt worktop with a grey wall next to it – an induction hob and sink are integrated into the design;
  • beige side and bottom units with built-in oven.

Directly opposite the kitchen area is a massive grey stone table with a rectangular top. To gather for a meal with the whole family, it is better to use a wooden table, and there are five upholstered black high-backed chairs next to it. Above the dining area is a pendant chandelier with a black body and a flexible LED element. It is complemented by an LED strip in the stretch ceiling.

The living area is represented by a large grey corner sofa. A small dark table is placed next to it, and opposite it is a cream-coloured wall with a black insert for placing a TV. An electric fireplace with a safe imitation of a natural fire complements the cosy design of the studio kitchen.

Finishing of the master bedroom

The master bedroom is an area for privacy and comfortable rest for parents. It is appropriately decorated in grey, cream and black to promote relaxation and fast sleep. There is a double bed with soft grey upholstery. There are bedside tables next to it. Three pendant lamps with glass shades are used for local lighting.

Opposite the bed, against a dark beige wall, there is a plasma TV with a black wall unit underneath. The bedroom is decorated with a light brown wooden bedside table with a large semi-oval mirror next to it, which is perfect for applying make-up and other grooming procedures.

Special attention should be paid to the storage area in the bedroom, which is represented by a huge black wardrobe covering the entire wall. It has enough space for ergonomic storage of clothes, shoes, accessories, and parents’ bed linen.

Interior of children’s rooms

The children’s rooms are decorated with more light colours and a large panoramic window to provide sufficient natural light. A large light bed is set against a brown and beige wall with a lighter arch. The room also features the following elements:

  • two hanging lamps with a spherical shade, one wall lamp with an oval stand by the bed;
  • a white bedside shelf with two drawers;
  • a cream-coloured table with a long table top and an upholstered chair on wheels in the same shade;
  • storage system above the table with open shelves and closed drawers;
  • wardrobe with sliding mirrored doors.

There is a TV set in the room, and the light colour of the wall design is perfect for projecting images from the projector. In one of the children’s rooms, there is an additional hanging chair for comfortable relaxation with a book, etc.

Design of the office

The strict colour scheme of the office, using dark and brownish-beige shades, makes it a great place to concentrate on work. In addition to the decoration, a rectangular stone desk with a grey top stands out. The loft-style design makes it both practical and functional.

If you need to take a break from work or think, you can use the rectangular sofa with dark upholstery. There is a black coffee table next to it, where you can put a cup of coffee, place a book, work materials or something else. There is a large storage area behind the comfortable work chair on wheels. Against the light brown finish, there are open black shelves for placing various accessories.

The interior composition of the study is complemented by an abstract painting in black and white. The artificial lighting includes a pendant chandelier above the desk, LED lights mounted in the stretch ceiling, and a local LED strip. To ensure sufficient natural light during daylight hours, there is a large window with blackout curtains to control the lighting.

Finishing of bathrooms

The bathrooms are decorated in grey and dark colours with a predominance of ceramics. The premises are:

  • integrated into the grey ceramic niche of the bathtub;
  • bidets with flush buttons integrated into the wall;
  • towel rail, niche for storing hygiene products;
  • a shower enclosure with an all-glass enclosure;
  • a white sink with a grey base and a large rectangular mirror above it, which is LED-lit.

In the other bathroom, there is a compact washbasin with an unusually irregularly shaped mirror above it. The comfortable staircase in brown and beige deserves additional attention. They are illuminated to make it safe to go down in the dark. A brown handrail also contributes to safety. Paintings in the interior add zest to the space, and green elements in the corridors fill the standard colour scheme, saturate it, but do not overload it.

The design of a private house in Osokorky is complemented by a separate dressing room. It allows you to store many things of all family members in an organised manner, freeing up space for other essential needs in the premises. The whole space is filled with natural light and cool coloured lamps. Each room creates a special atmosphere. Both parents and children will be able to find a cosy space to work, relax and do other things.
